iNix set to sell security systems in Middle East

HOME security solutions provider iNix Technologies Holdings Bhd expects to secure sales of more than RM10mil from the Middle East within the next two years, said chief executive officer Jimmy Tok Soon Guan.

The company signed a distributorship agreement with Techmy Sdn Bhd and Al-Qabba Trade Establishment in Kuala Lumpur yesterday to mark its entry into the Middle East.

Tok said Al-Qabba would place an initial order of 5,800 units of iNix's intelligent home systems through iNix’s main distributor for the Middle East market, Techmy Sdn Bhd. The system would be branded as “Techmy Smart System” in the Middle East.

“We expect to secure sales of more than RM10mil in the initial stage. The agreement (with Techmy and Al-Qabba) is for two years,” he said.

iNix, set up in 2003, manufactures Secure Smith, a 3-in-1 integrated intelligent system that consists of security, automation and video surveillance for home and business installations.

Al-Qabba specialises in distributing and marketing Malaysian products in the Middle East. It has 12 sales offices in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

Al-Qabba chief executive officer Dr Rashed Osman Joher said the company planned to set up at least 10 more “Malaysian centres” in the next five years in that region.

Three “Malaysian centres” have been established in Mecca, Jeddah and Riyadh in Saudi Arabia. “We expect to invest RM20mil in the 10 new centres,” he said.

Meanwhile, Tok said iNix’s Secure Smith products were already being exported to Singapore, Indonesia, China, Europe and Australia.

The overseas market contributed 55% to its first-half revenue for the financial year ended July 31. It plans to tap into the US market to widen its exports.

“We are finalising the terms and conditions for the US market,” Tok said, adding that iNix would appoint a distributor by year-end to market its intelligent home systems in the US.
