Secure Smith, the product manufactured and sold by iNix, is both a security and a smart living package which allows users to control and monitor their homes in almost any way imaginable. You can, for instance, use the Internet to view your home and control your appliances via handphone, cordless phone, regular phone or a remote control.
Secure Smith is an integrated intelligent security, automation and CCTV system which supports a staggering number of electrical appliances ¡V some 4,000 in fact! The smart solutions provided by iNix even allow the devices to be controlled without cabling, infrared or radio frequencies. They have a plug-in solution where a home¡¦s electrical system becomes the systems communication line.
The advantage of using a system, according to iNix¡¦s chief technical officer Cheong Kok Yai, is that by using your own power lines, the date transfer or communication is restricted to within your home or building. It will not enroach upon your neighbour¡¦s home, compared to if you were to use a system based on a 2.4 GHz radio frequency.
Secure Smith is modular and works out of the box. The smart box that forms the heart of the Secure Smith system has five processors which provide parallel processing power, and uses an embedded proprietary operating system, which in the rare case it locks up, can reset itself to restore all functions. With 22 security zones and support of up to 128 cameras, Secure Smith can be configured according to your needs at a minimal configuration for homes of 15 sensors and three automation sets for about RM 2,000 inclusive of an 18-month warranty.
